Last three weeks of July 9-27, 2012 BASIC

The University of Tennessee College of Education in cooperation with the Civil Air Patrol, NASA, and the Tennessee Department of Transportation Office of Aeronautics announces Basic and Advanced Aerospace Education C & I 595 AE class to be held at UT Knoxville from July 9 to July 27. Three semester hours of graduate credit will be available with all, or part of, cost of tuition to be provided by a grant from the Tennessee Department of Transportation Office of Aeronautics and the University of Tennessee College of Education. Enrollment is limited to 18 teachers in the greater Knoxville area for the Basic AE Workshop. Seating is first come, first serve. There will be an alternative list once we are full.

INSTRUCTION

All instruction will be a balanced combination of classroom lectures and "hands on" laboratory experience under the supervision of instructors who have extensive experience and expertise in their respective aerospace science fields. Field trips are planned, including a three day trip to Marshall Space Flight Center in Huntsville, Alabama. Local flight experience/instruction will be provided by the Civil Air Patrol. Students are required to join the Civil Air Patrol as an Aerospace Education Member AEM Member, $35 membership dues.

PARTICIPANTS

Approximately 18 teachers K-12 Basic

Priority will be given to teachers in the greater Knoxville, TN metro area.

Priority will be given to experienced teachers.
